About Lovamor
Lovamor is a white wine from the V.T Castilla-León produced by Alfredo Maestro. This is a single variety wine made with Albillo grapes.
The grapes used for Lovamor are taken from vineyards that were planted over 100 years ago, between 1891 and 1910. The vineyards are planted with different orientations, at different altitudes (between 770 and 1,000 metres) and are home to different soil compositions. The varying characteristics of these vineyards result in a wine with a really special character.
After being harvested manually, the grapes are destemmed and pressed before undergoing maceration which takes place for one week with the skins intact. Fermentation is then carried out in stainless steel tanks using native yeasts from the vineyard. The fact that the wine clarifies naturally outside over the cold winter meaning that it does not require fining, filtration and malolactic fermentation.
Like the various phases of the winemaking process, Lovamor is bottled in a natural manner. This may result in solid particles in the wine, but this is in no case means that the wine is in bad shape.
Alfredo Maestro is a renowned winemaker who has followed his own path in winemaking, regardless of the fashions of trends of the moment. He began to produce wine following conventional methods (through the addition of sulphur and clarifying the wine), but soon decided to develop according to natural methods, creating wines that as faithfully as possible convery the characteristics of the terroir.
| 2015 | Boasting a spirited and bitter profile, this selection offers delightful hints of ripe fruit. Radiant in its yellow hue. A melange of dried herbs and wilted flowers, complemented by nuances of dried fruits and overripe fruit. |
