Bérêche & Fils Rilly-la-Montagne 1er Cru 2017 is an exquisitely dry sparkling wine (with less than 6 g/L of residual sugar). On the nose, it is profound, featuring smoky limestone notes intermingled with red berries, blossoms, passion fruit, chamomile, and spices. The palate experiences a refreshing sensation, endowed with texture and tannins towards the finish. Delicate yet vigorous. Flavours of pear and caramel are prominent. Remarkably intense. The finish is prolonged and intricate.

About Bérêche & Fils Rilly-la-Montagne 1er Cru

Bérêche & Fils Rilly-la-Montagne 1er Cru is an extra Brut sparkling wine made with the Pinot Noir variety by Bérêche & Fils in the AOC Champagne, Champagne (France).
 
The Bérêche family has been working their vineyards in the village of Loudes, in the north of the Reims mountains, since 1847. But the winery has taken a different direction since the latest generation became involved. Raphaël and Vincent, with the help of their father Jean-Pierre Bérêche, begin to recover old works with the utmost respect and sensitivity and obtained pure, authentic and very mineral sparkling wines. A very personal seal that has turned Bérêche & Fils into a benchmark in the Champagne region.
 
Bérêche & Fils Rilly-la-Montagne 1er Cru comes from a vineyard of only 0.4 hectares at 178 meters above sea level. Vines with an average age of 36 years planted on sandy and limestone soils. Respectful agriculture is applied without the use of synthetic chemicals, being one of the houses with the lowest rate of treatments in the region and one of the first to obtain the certificate of High Environmental Quality.
 
At the winery, Bérêche & Fils Rilly-la-Montagne 1er Cru is vinified using the traditional champenoise method. First the grapes are fermented with native yeasts in neutral French oak barrels and then the second fermentation takes place in the bottle. Finally, it’s aged in stacking for 36 months with a dosage of 3 gr/l. 
 
The fruit of a small but exquisite Premier Cru, Bérêche & Fils Rilly-la-Montagne 1er Cru is clear proof of an awakening in the traditional Champagne region. An unconventional savoir faire that has aroused the curiosity of other winegrowers in the area due to its incredible results.

2016 Bérêche & Fils Rilly-la-Montagne 1er Cru 2016 is a sparkling wine with a delicious bouquet of varied fruitiness accompanied by notes of pastry and hints of mixed flowers. On the palate, it’s fresh, creamy and incredibly balanced. A champagne with a very lively acidity, a flavoursome passage and a long, persistent, mineral finish.
