About La Vicalanda Tempranillo Blanco

A remarkable winery. A limited edition. And a white wine you simply must not miss. That is La Vicalanda Tempranillo Blanco, a wine that, come what may, you should not overlook. 
 
As its name suggests, La Vicalanda Tempranillo Blanco is part of the La Vicalanda collection, a series showcasing the finest wines, the utmost "high expression" of those signature wines that represent a new style in the DOCa. Rioja, with greater intensity and structure, courtesy of French oak (replacing the American oak barrels traditionally used in the denomination). 
 
Regarded as an icon among the modern wines of Rioja, La Vicalanda Tempranillo Blanco originates in Rioja Alta, in the vineyards closest to the Haro Station district. The over 25-year-old Tempranillo Blanco vines thrive on a terroir of loamy and clayey soils. The grapes are harvested and cold-pressed in a vertical press, then fermented in wooden vats and French oak foudres, where they remain for several months before being bottled and allowed to mature.
