About Cavarodes Arbois Pinot Noir Lumachelles

Etienne Thiebaud, a promising young man from Jura, has not wasted any time since the world of wine piqued his curiosity. So, after learning all he could at Domaine de la Tournelle from owners Pascal and Evelyne Clairet in Arbois (Jura), he decided to embark on his own project Domaine des Cavarodes in 2007 in the neighbouring village of Cramans, along the Loue River. Well known for his shyness and the purity of his wines, his productions have become a sensation on the natural wine scene.

With only 4.5 hectares of vineyards (from 15 to 115 years old) that he cultivates organically, he makes brilliant small productions like Cavarodes Arbois Pinot Noir Lumachelles, a red wine made mainly from the Pinot Noir variety planted in one of his best vineyards, Lumachelles, with limestone soils on marl. He uses agriculture by limiting sulphur doses, using infusions and pruning and harvesting following the lunar calendar. In the winery, the grapes are vinified, if necessary, with a maximum of 2 grams of sulphur per 100 litres. Fermentation takes place spontaneously with native yeasts and the wine then ages for 12 months in used French oak barrels.

As a result, this young and brilliant winemaker creates Cavarodes Arbois Pinot Noir Lumachelles, a charming natural red wine, taken from his best vineyard, full of AOC Arbois freshness and typicity.
