Domaine de L'Arlot Vosne-Romanée 1st Cru Les Suchots is a monovarietal Pinot Noir red wine produced by Domaine de L'Arlot under the AOC Vosne-Romanée 1st Cru/ Côte-d'Or in Burgundy, France.

 

Vosne-Romanée is a region home to great terroirs where some of the best wines in the world come from. For the production of Domaine de L'Arlot Vosne-Romanée 1st Cru Les Suchots wine, the bunches are obtained from a small plot with vines planted in 1950 located in Les Suchots, an area greatly affected by millerandage, a situation which means the bunches don’t develop in a balanced way, affecting the size and quantity of the grapes, which is welcome for producers looking for excellent quality in their wines.

 

Harvesting is carried out on demand in order to preserve the freshness of the fruit. Vinification is precise, with the application of periodic pumping over and light punching the cap in order to highlight the characteristics of the terroir. The resulting wine is aged for 15 months in oak barrels, of which 40 or 45 percent are new use. Finally, the wine goes through a repose period of three months to finish blending, before bottling.

 

Domaine de L'Arlot is the classic example of what a Burgundian property means on the Côte de Nuits. A century-old winery which symbolizes a way of life whose strong identity is reflected in a history dedicated to producing wines of extraordinary quality.

 

2018 Domaine de L'Arlot Vosne-Romanée 1st Cru Les Suchots 2018 is a red wine which in its youth offers floral notes mixed with raspberries, cherries and blackcurrants. With maturity it generates spicier aromas, of licorice and undergrowth accompanied by a note of leather. On the palate it’s smooth and firm, with velvety tannins. A red wine of exquisite purity, rich and silky, with a long and fragrant finish.
