About Fabio Gea Mushroom Panda

Fabio Gea Mushroom Panda is a biodynamic red wine blend of nebbiolo and dolcetto varieties crafted by Fabio Gea in Piedmont, Italy.

Fabio Gea is a young Italian winemaker who inherited small plots of land, less than a hectare, around the Bricco in Barbaresco from his grandfather. His wine production is so limited that he can afford to hand-number each bottle, some of which don't even have a label, like this Fabio Gea Mushroom Panda. Nevertheless, each bottle represents a small, pure, and natural treasure. Some consider him "the madman" because he crafts his wines outside conventional standards, doing things his own way, resulting in wines that are unique, complex, expressive, and truly delightful.

Fabio Gea is the only one who creates his own "porcelain eggs," vessels he regards as odourless. Fabio Gea Mushroom Panda is something of an open secret. A vinification that encapsulates mystery and tradition, making it a sought-after and expressive gem of Piedmont.
2017 Fabio Gea Mushroom Panda 2017 is a red wine that offers notes of black fruits and wild herbs, aromas that gently appear in the glass and are balanced with a rustic hue. On the palate it is silky and the fruit reappears. A unique and flavoursome wine.
