About Gabaxo

Gabaxo is a red wine produced in Rioja by Olivier Riviere.

Olivier Riviere arrived in Logroño to work with Telmo Rodriguez on his Rioja project. His career was already extensive, he studied in Bordeos and worked in the area’s wineries, then went to Borgoña to work in Domaine Leroy, one of the area’s most important wineries that works in biodynamics.

The Rioja Project is carried out with their own and rented vineyards. In Gibaxo’s case, they are cultivated Garnacha vineyards rented from two different areas, from Aldeanueva del Ebro in the Rioja Baja and from Cardenas in the Rioja Alta.

The grapes to produce this Gabaxo are destemmed and ferment in stainless steel tanks. The wine is aged for 9 months in 500 litre barrels.

2018

Gabaxo 2018 is an alluring red wine. Olfactorily, it is exceedingly delicate, exhibiting nuances of red berries and violets. On the palate, it is persistent and invigorating, with spicy undertones that gradually give way to hints of orange zest and mineral accents.
