Whisky escocés (70 cl.).

Light and mellow on the palate with floral notes. A crunchy mid palate with glased butter flavours, lemon tart and strawberry. The finish is herbaceous and dry.

Pale gold.

An aromatic nose with notes of vanilla, freshly cut flowers and a toasted touch. It becomes more and more sweet and creamy, with aromas of fresh citrus fruits and lemon tart.

About Glenkinchie 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Glenkinchie 12 Year Old is a light and delicate whisky that is also sweet and creamy with a subtle floral fragrance.

Southeast of Edinburgh, where the tall green Lammermuir Hills head northwards towards the Firth of Forth, lies East Lothian. It is in this "Scottish garden" that acres of grain are produced in fields with water smoothly flowing southwards, towards the hills. This golden grain was headed for the Glenkinchie distillery when in 1837 local farmers John and George Rate became its first registered owners. They ceased production of Glenkinchie in 1853, but the facilities opened back up again in 1890 when a pool of investors and wine blenders in Edinburgh and Leith refurbished the Glenkinchie Distillery Co. Ltd.

Glenkinchie was finally rebuilt in the 1890s. It took ten years but it resulted in the Victorian distillery that we know today, with its distinctive red brick buildings, workers' living quarters and even its own bowling green.

Tradition is maintained to this day: for example, six wooden vats are still used for fermentation; two are made with Oregon pine and four with Canadian tamarack. Its two big old copper stills are also this distillery's defining trait. They are among the biggest. In fact, an impressive 1.3 million litres of whisky per year are produced inside them.
