La Mondotte 2025 is a red wine that unfolds in the glass with luminous and precise red fruit, where raspberry and strawberry emerge with an extraordinary clarity, as if the fruit were freshly picked and still retained some light. On the nose, it is expressive and lively, without heaviness, offering a sensation of freshness that invites a leisurely approach. On the palate, it is linear, tense, and highly defined, with an energy that sweeps across the palate from start to finish. Blue fruit appears accompanied by a subtle touch of liquorice, leaving a clean, elegant, and delicately vibrant impression.

About La Mondotte

There are wines that do not require a perfect setting, but rather a way of being in the world. In Saint-Émilion (France), atop a plateau of silty clay and limestone subsoils, Château La Mondotte epitomises one of the most precise and understated interpretations of Bordeaux. A property where biodynamics is practised rather than proclaimed, and where the old vines (some over 80 years) seem to have their own rhythm, indifferent to any urgency. Everything is designed so the vineyard speaks with minimal interference.
 
In the glass, La Mondotte is a red wine that possesses a texture not intended to impress at first, yet ultimately commands respect. Restrained black fruit, a mineral undertone reminiscent of damp stone, and a structure that feels more like architecture than volume. It is profound without being heavy, refined without being fragile, one of those reds that accompany better when the atmosphere becomes slower than the conversation.
 
And around, the moment unfolds naturally: a tablecloth that is no longer pristine, glasses refilled without ceremony, someone serving something to accompany without asking... La Mondotte does not demand the spotlight, yet ends up setting the pace for everything else.
