About Peña El Gato Natural

Peña El Gato Natural is a red wine produced inLa Rioja by the Juan Carlos Sancha winery in Baños del Rio Tobia, La Rioja.

Juan Carlos Sancha is the head of the project with 5.5 hectares of vineyards, all cultivated organically in the Najerilla valley, La Rioja Alta. He has been one of the leaders in rescuing the area’s old varieties and making wines with them again.

The vineyard to producePeña El Gato Natural is the same one that they use to produce the Garnacha Vieja, but they let it mature a little longer in order to obtain a little more alcohol. This helps to protect the wine in production, because they don’t use any additives.
