“He who has patience possesses a gift.” And if anyone understands patience, it is the winemakers. For patience does not begin in the winery, far from it; it starts much earlier, in the vineyard, where every decision, every pruning, and every ripe cluster matters. It is precisely with this philosophy that Casa Agrícola was born as the personal project of Pepe Mendoza and brings to life his naturally sweet wine Paciencia Infinita.
Casa Agrícola boasts 14 hectares of vineyard in the Marina Alta of Alicante (Valencian Community), and Pepe's philosophy is clear: to seek Mediterranean purity, to reflect the land and the climate in each bottle, and to let nature work its magic.
Paciencia Infinita is a naturally sweet red wine, crafted from the local varieties monastrell and giró, without added alcohol, and with a refinement that makes it elegant and enveloping. The grapes come from the Abargues and Viñas El Veneno estates, where some vines are between 45 and 70 years old and are cultivated under uncertified practices. Harvesting is done by hand, waiting for the grapes to overripen, to capture all their intensity and concentration.
The vinification preserves this purity: no expedition liquor is added, and the wine retains 65 grams of sugar per litre, sourced solely from the fruit. After fermentation, Paciencia Infinita is aged for 30 months in well-seasoned, neutral 220-litre oak barrels, developing structure and smoothness without losing freshness or clarity.
The result is Pepe Mendoza Casa Agrícola Paciencia Infinita, a wine of modern style, clean, elegant, and surprisingly expressive, where the natural sweetness is balanced with notes of ripe fruit and the Mediterranean character of its vineyards. A reminder that in the world of wine, as in life, patience is not just a virtue... it is a gift to be savoured slowly.
