About Perelada Festival Brut

Summer festivals have become a quintessential seasonal tradition. Undoubtedly, these are joyous outdoor celebrations that attract more people each year. The formula is simple yet foolproof: art and entertainment for all attendees. The Castillo Peralada (part of the Grupo Perelada), a 14th-century building renowned for its architectural beauty and rich history, comes alive in a special way each summer since 1987, becoming a unique venue for one of Europe's most prestigious music festivals, Festival Castell de Perelada. During this time, the castle is transformed into a hub of cultural activity, where artists from various disciplines gather to deliver spectacular performances. The blend of the historical beauty of the castle with the creative expression of the invited artists turns the festival into pure magic.

In tribute to all these unique gatherings, the flagship winery of Empordà (Catalonia), Peralada, has crafted Perelada Festival Brut, a sparkling wine within the D.O. Cava that comprises the traditional varieties of xarel·lo, parellada, and macabeo. These are cultivated in diverse soils of a region with a temperate climate, resulting in fruit with its own distinct identity. In the winery, the grapes are first selected and destemmed to obtain the base wine, and once the must has fermented, a second fermentation is carried out following the méthode champenoise. The disgorgement is not performed before 15 months, with a small percentage of dosage added.
