About Ron Arehucas Carta Oro

In Arucas, in the north of Gran Canaria, rum has been an integral part of the landscape since the late 19th century. It was here, in 1884, that La Fábrica de San Pedro was founded, the origin of what we now know as Destilerías Arehucas, one of the oldest and largest rum houses in Europe. Since then, the rum produced at these facilities has accompanied island life, becoming a symbol of identity, tradition, and Canarian pride.
 
Arehucas is a family-owned company with over 135 years of history, deeply intertwined with the culture of the archipelago. From suppliers to the Spanish Royal Household and Court to a current benchmark for Canarian rum both on and off the islands, their journey has been built on respect for artisanal methods, the use of their own sugar cane, and a firm commitment to sustainability and their surroundings.
