About Schoenheitz Riesling

Not every wine can boast of attending the Olympic Games... but this one can. Schoenheitz Riesling is a cuvée chosen for the Paris 2024 Olympics, and it's easy to see why.

The Schoenheitz winery, located in Wihr-au-Val, in the heart of the Munster Valley in Alsace (France), has made the mountains its greatest ally. It is the sole bottler in the municipality, working vineyards on south-southwest facing slopes, sometimes with dizzying inclines, where all work must be done by hand. This setting, which has welcomed the most emblematic varieties of Alsace since the Middle Ages, remains a small paradise for riesling.

Schoenheitz Riesling originates from small, meticulously selected plots. The soil, a highly decomposed granite rich in mica and silica, imparts that distinctive freshness and minerality. The vines, aged between 10 and 30 years, yield little, but the quality more than compensates for it. In the winery, the aim is clear: to let the grape speak for itself, highlighting the varietal expression above all else.

Thus, Schoenheitz Riesling in the glass is like an elite athlete: precise, elegant, and with the energy to go the distance. Because if the Olympic motto is Citius, Altius, Fortius (faster, higher, stronger), this riesling adapts it in its own way: fresher, more elegant, more Schoenheitz.
