About Suertes del Marqués El Lance

Suertes del Marqués El Lance is a red wine produced by Suertes del Marques in the D.O. Valle del Orotava in Tenerife.

Suertes del Marqués has always been committed to the use of native grape varieties of the area and using traditional viticultural techniques, such as the Trenzado method, a peculiar traditional trellis system.

El Lance is a collaboration of winemakers in the Valley, who together have vineyards cultivated on both trellises as well as the traditional trenzado method, with 10 hectares of different varieties such as Listan Negro and Vijariego, grown on volcanic soils.

Fermentation takes place in open cement tanks and in plastic vats. The wine is decanted into 500 litre French oak barrels where malolactic fermentation is carried out, and following ageing for 11 months.

Suertes del Marques El Lance 2018 is a smooth red wine with a nose of ripe fruit aromas, hints of mountain herbs and spicy touches. On the palate it is austere, fresh and mineral.
