The Macallan M Decanter Release 2023 is a whisky of intense, deep, and natural amber hue, which already hints at a distinctive character from the first glance. On the nose, it opens with sweet black cherry and brown sugar, enveloped in notes of polished oak and a hint of leather that adds character, while chocolate and vanilla soften the blend with a warm and balanced background. On the palate, it unfolds with layers of liquorice and tea leaves that provide an herbal touch, along with a texture reminiscent of custard and nuances of chocolate with orange, accompanied by a subtle spicy hint of wood. The finish is long and persistent, with reminiscences of dried fruits and an elegant dark chocolate that leaves a rounded, enveloping, and serene sensation.
