About Valduero 6 Años Reserva Premium

Valduero 6 Años Reserva Premium is a red wine aged in wood, crafted by Valduero using the tinto fino variety within the D.O. Ribera del Duero.
 
Valduero is the personal venture founded by Gregorio García Álvarez in 1984 in the small Burgos village of Gumiel del Mercado. It is one of the pioneering wineries of the D.O. Ribera del Duero, where, alongside his two daughters Yolanda and Carolina, he produces wines with extended ageing and great potential. 
 
Valduero 6 Años Reserva Premium originates from an estate vineyard over 40 years old. These are old vines cultivated using traditional methods with a limited yield of 2,000kg/ha. The harvest is carried out manually with meticulous selection in the vineyard itself. 
 
In the winery, a second selection of grapes for Valduero 6 Años Reserva Premium is conducted for vinification. The fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts, and the wine ages for 36 months in oak barrels from four different origins. Finally, the wine remains for an additional 30 months in the bottle before being released to the market. 
 
Valduero 6 Años Reserva Premium is an elegant wine produced only in the finest vintages. A limited production with numbered bottles that should be reserved for special occasions.

Upon tasting, we encounter a red wine of profound complexity, unfurling a generous palate presence that exudes elegance and a captivating concentration of flavors. While it may have surpassed its initial youth, it retains nuances of ripe fruit interwoven with a subtle spiciness. This wine is an exemplar of sophistication and distinctive character, ready for appreciation.
2014 Valduero 6 Años Reserva Premium 2014 is an exceptional red wine. Its robust character is immediately evident on the nose. One can discern fruit-laden aromas interlaced with nuances reminiscent of toffee caramel, complemented by strokes of fine wood. On the palate, it emerges with maturity and sophistication. A red wine that is aromatic and captivating, lingering and unforgettable.
2012 Valduero 6 Años Reserva Premium 2012 is an aged red wine with intense aromas of toffee and notes of wood. On the palate it is broad, powerful and very meaty. A wine with marked tannins and integrated acidity. The finish is lingering and persistent.
2004 Wide wine with an embracing attack, which coats the palate with the intense feelings already found in the nose. It has a silky, meaty and very tasty mid palate, ripe tannins and a balanced acidity. It has a very persistent finish. Very good wine. One of the best expressions of Ribera del Duero.

Very intense, deep maroon color. High robe and dense tears.

Its marked notes of ripe black fruit are released along with tobacco, toffee and elegant toasted aromas on its vegetal background of undergrowth.
