Vermouth Carpano Classico is a vermouth which on the nose offers aromas reminiscent of dried aromatic herbs accompanied by sweet spices, candied fruits and liqueur. Its palate is round, with a good balance between acidity and bitterness and persistent passage with a fruity finish.

About Vermouth Carpano Classico

It’s known that by 1700 B.C. the Egyptians were already making liqueurs flavored with wormwood, one of the essential ingredients in preparing vermouth, and that the word vermouth is a derivative of the German 'wermutkraut', which means wormwood. However, although the origins of these aromatized wines are located in places like Egypt, Greece or Germany, it’s Antonio Benedetto Carpano, an Italian distiller, who’s credited in 1876 with creating the formula that has given rise to the category we know today as vermouth. Antonio Benedetto Carpano is the father of contemporary vermouth.

 
There’s more than enough history and words to talk about Carpano vermouth. Carpano Classico is considered by bartenders as the original, unique and true vermouth , for preparing classic cocktails and creating new generation mixes. Carpano Classico is a defining vermouth, with citrus notes, persistent in the mouth and with that characteristic bitter touch of the Torino style.
