Vermouth Valdespino 75cl is an aperitif with a clear identity thanks to the old Jerez oloroso. The nose is spicy and intense, with predominant oloroso notes. The palate is citrusy, spicy (clove and gentian), rounded by an elegant bitterness and slightly sweet finish.

About Vermouth Valdespino

Fresh from the oven. Valdespino has just released Valdespino Aperitifs, a new range where aperitifs, as the name suggests, are the main focus.

Their Quina Valdespino and Vermouth Valdespino are the big stars of this new launch, where everything is based on the oloroso and muscatel from this winery’s soleras. This Jerez company, officially founded in 1875, began to produce this wine at the end of the 19th century. This date marks the beginning of a production that reached its peak between 1930 and the end of the 20th century, where Valdespino was particularly active in making these drinks.

Now, just as it looks like vermouth is enjoying a second golden age, Bodegas Valdespino is reviving their production process and relaunching Vermouth Valdespino.

To do this, the Jerez group is going back to its origins, to its original soleras where the oloroso VOS and VORS (wines with an average age of more than 20 and 30 years) are resting. Some wine from these barrels, together with a blend of muscatel, will form the base of Vermouth Valdespino, along with macerating artemisia, coriander, elderberry, gentian, quassia, chamomile flower, clove, cinnamon, orange and juniper berries.

This Vermouth Valdespino maceration will spend some time in wooden casks that have previously held Oloroso Valdespino. Finally, the old ‘Tonic for the Sick’ label has been brought back after spending 100 years in the family museum, and adds the finishing touch to this very special production.
