Vermut Fernando de Castilla blanco is a powerful and complex natural vermouth. The nose is fruity, with aromas of Muscat grapes and spices. On the palate, it’s semi-sweet, intense and long, with flavors of wormwood, clove and thyme.

About Vermut Fernando de Castilla blanco

Ferdinand of Castile ('The Saint') went down in history for reconquering a large part of Andalusia (Jaen, Cordoba, Seville) and what was left of Badajoz.

In this task, which took him most of his life, the monarch discovered the exceptional climate and soil of the area for producing quality wines. It seems that this legacy and love for viticulture was also inherited by his son Alfonso X ('The Wise') who for the first time legislated this activity and promoted the production areas of the Marco de Jerez and O Ribeiro.

Under this name the Jerez wineries Rey Fernando de Castilla - active for two centuries - pay homage to this monarch. True lovers of history and tradition, here they recover the old Jerez custom of making vermouth, with Vermut Fernando de Castilla blanco.

Vermut Fernando de Castilla blanco is made with a high quality base wine, a blend of Muscatel and Palomino Fino, fermented in stainless steel tanks. In this wine, 27 botanicals (wormwood, lemon peel, orange peel, clove...) without added aromas are macerated, which provides great intensity. This detail, together with its long ageing in French oak casks, makes this vermouth one of the essential wines of the Marco Jerezano.
