Viña Zorzal Bidai Berri 2023 exhibits a bright ruby hue of medium intensity. Bringing the glass to the nose reveals an intense bouquet of ripe strawberries, cherries, and a hint of spices and earthiness. On the palate, it is a dry and refreshing wine, with gentle tannins and a medium body. Flavours of red fruits are prominent, accompanied by a subtle mineral note, culminating in a long and pleasing finish.

About Viña Zorzal Bidai Berri

There is no stopping the Sanz brothers. Collaborations continue to occur relentlessly, one after another, within Viña Zorzal, the venture initiated by four siblings in Navarra. This time, their journey has taken them not too far, to the village of Eslava, approximately 72 kilometres from their winery, where they have joined forces with the local cooperative to jointly bring forth Viña Zorzal Bidai Berri.
 
In Viña Zorzal Bidai Berri, everything revolves around balance. The grapes are cultivated organically in the vineyards of this village in the Sangüesa region, while the production takes place in the facilities of the Sanz brothers; part of the harvest is destemmed, the other is kept with the stems... For all of them, working with garnacha has been quite a challenge, as the three plots of old vineyards (over 80 years old) are among the few that have survived in this area. For the Sanz brothers, this endeavour has represented a significant challenge and learning experience, as they have had to contend with higher altitudes and a more humid climate than they are accustomed to. Nevertheless, nothing can halt this duo whose paths have converged thanks to their passion and love for this variety.
 
During vinification, the Sanz brothers maintain their hallmark: manual processes, whole clusters, spontaneous fermentations, avoiding rackings, and no filtering or fining. Viña Zorzal Bidai Berri, which means New Journey in Basque, will rest for less than a year in 500-litre barrels. May what Viña Zorzal Bidai Berri and garnacha have united, let no one separate!
