Kosher Israel wines

Although winemaking in Israel dates back to Biblical times, it was not until the end of the 19th century that the modern Israeli wine industry began to emerge, and this was thanks to a significant donation from Baron Edmond de Rothschild to be put towards vine cultivation. Because of Jewish dietary laws, Israel’s wines are Kosher, a Hebrew word that means “suitable”. So when it comes to viticulture, there are certain guidelines that must be followed for wines to be certified as such. Do Kosher Israel wines have a different flavour to regular wines? The answer is no. Kosher wines taste the same, so Israeli wines can also be enjoyed by anyone who wants to explore the landscape and culture of this country even if they do not adhere to a Kosher diet.
