About Morasinsi Il Franco Il Fine Il Selvaggio
In an oenological nod to that spaghetti western classic—Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo—Morasinsi christens this wine with a title that evokes adventure, multifaceted personality, and unfiltered character: Il Franco, Il Fine, Il Selvaggio. This is no coincidence. This single-varietal nero di Troia from Alta Murgia in Puglia (Italy) is presented with three faces and a singular truth: that of an authentic, free, and profoundly expressive wine.
Il Franco, because it is honest: no added sulphites, unclarified, unfiltered. What you see (and drink) is what you get. Il Fine, because it possesses serene elegance, the result of precise vinification and aging in cement that respects the fruit and varietal character. Il Selvaggio, because it retains that untamed, earthy, and vibrant quality that gives meaning to nero di Troia when cultivated without constraints.
Morasinsi Il Franco Il Fine Il Selvaggio originates in the vineyards of Morasinsi, the venture of Sveva Sernia and Peter Geier, two young winemakers deeply committed to regenerative agriculture and the biodiversity of Alta Murgia in Puglia. In their winery, fermentation occurs spontaneously, driven solely by the indigenous yeasts of the vineyard and surroundings. There is no correction, no embellishment. The process is merely accompanied with respect. Subsequently, aging in cement tanks allows the wine to evolve without the vessel overshadowing it, developing a silky texture and a clean, direct expression without artifice. The only sulphites present are those generated by the fermentation itself.
Morasinsi Il Franco Il Fine Il Selvaggio does not aim to please everyone. It strives to be true to itself. And it succeeds. A nero di Troia that—like the film—leaves a lasting impression.
