Ron Miel Cocal is a very bright amber-coloured spirit with orange tones. Very intense and flavoursome, this rum is a spectacle both on the nose and in the mouth. First, sugar cane, orange peel and floral touches appear. Then it is sweet and smooth, creamy and enveloping, with a long finish. Impossible not to fall in love with.

There is nothing more Canarian than Ron Miel. And none of them are more typical, traditional and artisan than Ron Miel Cocal.

Produced by the Cooperativa Canaria de Aguardientes y Licores ((Cocal), one of the oldest distilleries in La Laguna (Tenerife), Ron Miel Cocal is one of the company’s best sellers and is currently sold worldwide. It is very difficult not to fall in love with the all-natural products used in the production of this rum. Today’s witness of a thousand-year-old tradition, the first productions were made by the Aruca monks in the 18th century, Ron Miel Cocal is one of the most select spirits you will find. Currently, run by the fifth generation, they are immersed in a process of transformation and modernisation, where they seek to innovate with their spirits without forgetting tradition (in fact, they plan to set up a museum to showcase their heritage). 

In 1948 Alfredo Martín, José Rodríguez and the company Hijos de Juan Rodríguez S.A. formed a partnership to found the San Bartolomé de Tejina Distillery. This would be the start of the company that would later become Cocal. Their sole purpose at that time was to promote the traditional sugar cane plants in the area. How could they have known then how great their idea would turn out to be? Who could have imagined the great success of Ron Miel Cocal?
